Water is Life – Certification Makes It Happen.
The WPI Certification Program is a vehicle for individuals to become certified where a state, provincial, or other government agency does not have a mandatory program established or for individuals who hold equivalent active certification in a jurisdiction with a mandatory program.
Approximately 600 active certificates are currently maintained by the WPI Certification Program, which also holds an active database of the certificants’ qualifications, certificates issued, and continuing education credits acquired.

Operator Certification Requirements
Individuals who do not meet the above requirements may still be eligible through WPI’s system that allows for substitution of education and experience. In addition, WPI offers an “in-training” certification to those applicants that do not yet meet our education and experience requirements.
Along with meeting the education and experience requirements, the operator must pass WPI’s Certification Exam or an equivalent exam with a score of 70% or higher. For more information about the examination, please refer to Examination Resources.
